My vision for the future is one of nation building.
I thank all of those who have helped to build the Cree Nation, including the elected leaders and all of those who have shown local initiative and who have dedicated their own time and effort in education, delivering health and social services, working out of the band offices, creating employment for others and in promoting the traditional practices of our people. A Nation works best when its members strive toward common goals.
WORKING TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER.

VOTE FOR TED MOSES

I agreed to take a leadership role in the Cree Nation to promote a specific vision of nation-building. I wish to continue my leadership to implement this vision further. Every major initiative I have undertaken is directly connected to achieving this vision and objective.
The task of nation-building requires significant effort to be placed on four pillars.
- Governance. Building governance structures involves forming Cree values, and political and social organization into a contemporary, legal and political reality. This is the first objective of my initiative in the Federal negotiations.
- Laying the Economic Foundation for the Nation. We must continue to build our economy to ensure basic needs, prosperity and hope for the future. This was the main objective and the achievement of the New Relationship Agreement with Quebec.
- Building Healthy Communities. Substantial effort must be placed on addressing personal and family difficulties. We are now in a position, because of the recent Health Agreement, to effectively address these concerns with ongoing mental health initiatives and suicide prevention measures.
- Defence of Cree rights. I will continue to place significant effort in the defence, preservation and promotion of Cree rights. I will defend the Cree Nation as a whole and also the aboriginal rights of Cree collectivities and individuals. For example, I have taken a lead role in defending the rights of the Washaw Sibi Eeyouch. In addition, aboriginal rights continue to be promoted within Canada, and internationally, through ongoing work with UN bodies.
This vision includes: more
housing, healthy and viable communities, a vibrant Cree
economy, more jobs, more services and programs for all and
particularly for the trappers, and a Cree Nation Government
with the financial resources to take care of Eeyou-Eenou
affairs and speak out for the people.
I ask for your vote in the election for Grand Chief so that we
can work together to continue to make the Cree Nation an even
more effective voice of the People.
